25 April 2013 Thursday-905 day remaining, Friday is next and Sunday is coming. Are you read up, prayed up, rearing to be, do and go anywhere, anytime, with anyone, at any cost for the glory of GOD? If not, why not? The will of God is not a place. The calling for service is not to dirt but to people. It is a shame that many have heard the gospel several times and have not repented nor responded to God for forgiveness and salvation and yet there are many millions of people who have NEVER been given the gospel even ONE time. How are we to give an account of our stewardship of His Truths when we have been disobedient, careless and knowingly denying them His gospel? Why do you read to know Him? Why do you not read to know Him?

We have completed Joshua's account of claiming the land promised to Israel. In the book of Judges we are being told of how Israel obeyed and disobeyed GOD. Look again at Judges 2:6-10 and compare this report to the conduct of The peoples of America today. Now, how effective have the fathers been to obey God and to tell their children of all the good and great things He has done for them? Because we, the redeemed, are the light and the salt in this nation it ought not to be walking in darkness and be so dirty. We are not ignorant. We get to read every day God's plan and to enjoy His provisions for our every need, yet many are admittedly too busy to seek His leadership and walk in His light. When will we get tired of stale bread and flat wine? The stuff the world offers is not good for us nor our children.

Take time to read, and read again Psalm 94:1-23.Use the names of God likes this, v1"O Jehovah Elohim, to whom vengeance belongeth; O Elohim, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself." Use these names of LORD as Jehovah the only Saviour who redeems and deals with His children. Elohim as the God who creates, sustains, provides and deals with all nations. Note v14 and see the promise of Jehovah as The Father. Read and believe v22 as Truth for now and forever. Please read to know Him. Believe and put into practice what you read each day and enjoy His daily Bread. luvpj

23 April 2013Tuesady-907 days remaining, Friday will be here soon and Sunday is coming! Hope you have been reading to know God. Stop, where were you today in 2012? Are you closer to your Saviour now than last year?  If not, why not? I encourage you to read the KJV One Year Bible on a daily basis to know God as He acts in the Old Testament, New Testament Psalms and Proverbs.

Today, Proverbs 13:24 tells parents how to discipline children. It declares that there is a difference between those of righteousness (A Gift of God) and wickedness. The Bible declares ALL men as sinners and by faith some of them have repented, been saved/born again, and are considered righteous by God. What does God consider you to be ?

Psalm 89,90 and 91 tell us of many of God's attributes, promises and warnings. We get to read to know Him so that we increase our faith and practice our obedience to His Truths.

God has caused Luke to write some of the miracles Jesus did, several of the parables He spoke and recorded how He trained His disciples. Jesus preached the gospel, warned about His trial, crucifixion, death, burial, Resurrection, how He would show Himself with many infallible proofs and then ascend into heaven. All men have been warned about the coming judgment. We read to know Him/Truth!

Joshua goes the way of all men, he dies. Judges tells a sad tale of Israel not knowing God. Fathers have not believed recorded truth for their family, nor made provisions for themselves and their children for eternity. We read this and we ought to not make the same eternal error. Look at Joshua 24:16-24 and recall what vow you have made or not to God. Read Judges2:10, be fearful, repent, call unto God for mercy and forgiveness. Read the parable at Luke 20:9-19 and determine how this applies to yourself. Consider Proverbs 13:12-14 and seek peace with God so that you may know and enjoy the peace of God. Get right-be right, do right and don't quit, luvpj

Wednesday 17 April 2013-913 days remaining, Friday will be here soon and Sunday is coming.  Hope your Bible reading has caused you to know Him better and moved you to service. I've encouraged you to use the One Year -365 KJV Bible so that you get the opportunity to read, see, hear and sense the whole council and mind of Elohim Jehovah your Adonai.

We get to read to know Him by His attributes, traits, acts, names, promises and warnings.  I also suggest you develop a prayer journal/list and use it as you prepare to read to remind you of others as they enjoy The LORD, face trials, deal with battles that are bigger than them and yet keep on trusting the Truth of what they have read and believe. It is amazing how similar we are to those of Bible times, both the Jews, heathens and Christians. Let us read and learn from this Bible history, believe and obey, do that what is right and avoid evil. Johnsonology "get/be right, do right and don't quit."

God uses Joshua to accomplish His will for Israel as they enter into and conquer the land of promise. OH, that they would have wholly obeyed every command. There is a basic stewardship principal driven by obedience, hear and heed. Israel was not ignorant of the commandments and statutes of God, nor are we today. As they did so will we reap what we have sown, just look at 18:3. The instruction of accountability was given at 18:8-9 to put truth/facts on paper so that misunderstandings are limited and appreciation of benefits are defined. When was the last time you did an asset inventory of God's gifts/blessings to you? Take time to be grateful.

Can you give a testimony of what Jesus has done for you, as did the blind man as recorded at Luke 19? If not, why not? Salvation is by faith, it is a gift of God. Read Luke 18:18-34 and review the Gospel and record how, where, when, why you needed to be saved/born again so that your name was written down into God's Book of Eternal Life. Read and believe! Hear and receive! Trust and obey!

Perhaps Psalm 86 will give you comfort and joy because you now know that you are preserved. Learn to enjoy the light of righteousness and walk at liberty in His precepts.  luvpj
PS:  THANKS to you around the globe that read this blog, Amen

13 April 2013 Saturday-915, Friday is past but Sunday is coming. Hope you have read your Bible to know your Lord and Saviour better today than yesterday. We got to enjoy our youngest grandson's birthday today. Yesterday he had a "Zip-Line" party with his best friend Eli and he invited us to join in the adventure. It was a great time/challenge.  First we had to climb up a 4 story platform, then zip by links over cables from tree platform to tree platform. The last zip was 900 yards back to the start point. All of us survived and agreed to do it again soon. Eli's dad is a pastor and we had a  good time talking about The Lord and how we are blessed.

As we read the Proverbs for today, 13:2-3, we are reminded about stewardship of our mouth. No wise man that is diligent and wants to be prudent will be careless, epically with lose and unkind words.

Psalm 82 tells us again about the impact of judging people incorrectly. It seems as if we should say, be right, do right and don't quit.

Jesus teaches principals for life in Luke 16. Stewardship is the theme/backdrop used to show how greed, selfishness, lying and bad friends is not smart. We always reap what we sow. Read again v15 and spend some time to apply this truth in your prayer life.

God causes Joshua to serve as judge for the sin that caused 36 men to die at the battle for Ai. Prompt obedience and strict discipline are great rules for families and military units.  As you read about how Achan is found to be the cause and he is quickly charged and condemned to be stoned to death. Look at v25 and consider all Israel carried out this sentence. How does this impact your concept of God? Perhaps if we take time to read The Bible seeking to know God, He will cause The Holy Spirit to teach us what we need to know so that we may trust and obey. Believe what you read. luvpj        Hope to see you in Sunday School and Church.

11 April 2013, Thursday-919, Friday is coming then Sunday. Hope your reading of your Bible is spiritual, informative, uplifting, encouraging, confrontational, soothing and causing you to know your Jehovah Elohim better today that yesterday. Please consider reading in the One Year Bible-KJV. If you want to receive a copy of our weekly class notes, please contact me and I will add you to our mailing list, no charge, Gratis. What verse or portion of Scripture has changed your life because you read this week to know Him? If there has been no change, why not?

As you read God's account of the Jews activities crossing the Jordan and entering into the promised land consider the impact Jehovah had on Joshua. No man can be be confronted by God and be the same. Did your father show you and teach you great things that God has done for him and your family? As a parent have you taught your children? This is good news"Gospel" and we need to share.

When you read the account of a certain man inviting people to a supper as told by Jesus and recorded at Luke chapter 14, where did you see yourself?  We need to make these truths personal as we read so that The Holy Spirit may better illustrate them to us for application. There are promises of eternal life and forgiveness from the wrath of God as well as truth about rejecting  the gift and then dying in our sin of unbelief and being separated from God for ever in these verses.

Note the three verses that are the same in Psalm 80:1-19. This is a great place to start and end your daily prayer life. Consider His attributes and then read and believe what you read. Don't be slothful as the man in Proverbs but be prudent, diligent, seeking to know GOD as you read. luvpj

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Tuesday 9 April 2013-921 days remaining. Friday in just a few more days then Sunday. Hope you have been reading your Bible to know God. In order for my comments to be relative to you, it is important that we read the same Bible.

I've been reading and using The One Year Bible, King James Version since 1996. I often refer to this Bible as the "365" because it is organized so that any one may be able to read some Old Testament, New testament, Psalms and Proverbs every day and read through the entire Bible in one year/365 days.

I promise you that each year you read it, it is and will be more exciting and informative. My wife and I read daily and the average time for reading through a day is 16-18 minuets.  We have found that reading aloud causes us to sense the tone and tenor of the scriptures and they seem to be more vibrant. After our reading we get to enjoy "praying back" some of what we have read and heard.  we strive to use the same terms of endearment emphasizing the traits and attributes of The LORD.

For example today we read Psalm 78:72 "So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands." Also we read Proverbs 12:25 "Heaviness in the heart of  man maketh it to stoop: but a good word maketh it glad." It seem to me that these were words from The Lord to us to remind us of His Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipresence, Immutability, Holiness, Justice, Truthfulness, Goodness, Genuineness, and Greatness.

It was as though we were reading and hearing these sweet words for the first time. We enjoying telling our God that we are grateful for His Word, His mercy and His grace. We would not and cannot know Him apart from the Scriptures. Read to know Him. Believe what you read. Get right-be right, do right and don't quit. pj

Saturday, April 6, 2013

Saturday 6 April 2013-924 days remaining. Yea, Friday is past and Sunday is coming. Lay out your clothes for tomorrow this PM, shine your shoes, trim your nails, and plan to get a good nights rest so that you may get up early in the AM to read to know God before you go to class and then to church.

We do not go to Bethel to meet God. He is with us! We go to praise and worship El of Bethel our risen Saviour, to honor The Father and be led by The Holy Spirit so that the preaching of the Gospel will edify the believers for the work of the ministry. We are encouraged by having fellowship with our brothers and sisters in The LORD. Our faith will be increased by seeing and hearing The Word.

As you read the record in Deuteronomy as penned by Moses, take time to develop a fear of God. It seems as though the more the children of God fear Him, the more the enemies of God become afraid. We need to pay attention to how blessings may be turned into curses because of unbelief and disobedience. These are given to us as examples for us to learn so that we don't get distracted, confused and led astray. We have the choice. Choose wisely. Read to know Him and believe what you read. Johnson's rule: Get/Be right, do right and don't quit.  luvpj-hope to see you in the AM.

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

Wednesday 3 April 2013--What a day to be as the Samaritan that was good to a Jew in the ditch, naked and half dead. We have a choice to rob and steal from others or to help them or to walk on the other side of the road when we see hurting people. Every choice produces a consequence, yet we do not get to choose what that consequence will be or when it will come upon us.

Even today as you chose to read to know God or not there will be a consequence. We read to know Him. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy is understanding. We can be wise or we can remain ignorant of the Truth. You get to choose. Choose the BEST. pj

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Tuesday, 2 April 2013-928 days, Friday is coming then SUNDAY! Hopefully you are reading to know Elohim according to the Scriptures so that you may see and hear Adonai as the Way, the Truth and the Life thereby receiving from Jehovah forgiveness of your sin, the gift of eternal life and the power to become sons of God.

Look into the form of government that God wanted the Jews to have and enjoy. Compare what, if they sought a king, the king ought to be and do at Deut17:14-20. What form of government do we now have?

Look for the attributes of God in Jesus as you read what The LORD wanted Luke to pen in his gospel. Jesus is known as the son of man, a perfect man among men. Do you know Him?

Psalm 73 is powerful to reveal the mind and heart of man. How do you see yourself described here and what have you done with this information. If you are in doubt about how to deal with circumstances, then turn back to Psalm 37 and believe, practice and apply what you read.

The Proverbs have shown the thoughts and intents of the wicked as compared to the righteous. Where are you and how do you respond to these Truths? Read to know Him. Get right, be right and don't quit. luvpj      PS: It appears that The Scriptures are like a search light piercing our inner man.
