22 Aug 11 Good morning to all of you. I hope you have been reading your 365 KJV Bible diligently (daily) and getting to know GOD, The LORD your Lord, who is God over all. I've modified the blog by inserting the 365 Sunday School Class lesson for the week. Hopefully as you read your Bible during the upcoming week some of my questions and comments will provoke you to stop, meditate and pray as you read. God is no respector of persons in that what you see Him do in the Scriptures to and for obedient believers and disobedient children who are stiffneck and unrepentant, He will cause His will to be accomplished.
I will post the lesson #34-28 Aug very soon so that what you are reading now and this week you may be ready for class on the 28th. If you do not attend Victory Baptist Sunady School and you have a question please e-mail your question, .

As you read note the provisions for Salvation, the condition of all sinners, that whosoever may be saved, faith is required, confession by believers is evident, confidence that God will keep believers, hell awaits unbelievers, Holy living ought to follow conversion and the impact of neglecting God's call/draw.
Hopefully, the reading this week causes you to sense, feel, know and believe that you are in fact saved, safe and in the hand of God, The Lord Jesus Christ, and that you are accepted in the beloved, secure and significant to GOD. Consider others, check on those that were not in class last week, tell and show them you care for them. Use 2nd Peter 1:2 to encourage others.
Psalm 9:1-13:6 Did you see the attributes of The LORD (9:3-4,11:7,13:6)? Do you believe 9:10 & 17? What did you learn about the wicked? What did you learn about God?
Proverbs 19:1-16 How important is integrity? Do liars get by? How does v9 compare to 9:10? How can you apply v11 in your life? What is a prudent wife? What do you despise? (Prov 6:16)

*comments from The New Scofield* Study Bible " During the period recorded in this book, Israel received warnings and exhortations from Amos and Hosea, and a number of prophets arose in Judah, including Isaiah and Jeremiah. The book concludes with the people of Judah in captivity in Babylon."
2nd Kings 23:31-25:30? What do you sense about "and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done." ___ "so Judah was carried away out of their land". Discover how choices impact those around us//consequences. Look for The LORD.
I Chronicles 1:1-10:14 How does genealogy (9:1) impact our lives? How does 4:9-10 impact your prayer life? Saul's life reflected at 10:13-14.How does this impact your concept of GOD?
**Comments from Halley's Bible Handbook, "The Twelve preceding Books of the Bible ended with the Hebrew nation in captivity. These two books of Chronicles retell the same story, and end at the same point. They are a Recapitulation of all that had gone before, with special attention to the reigns of David, Solomon and subsequent kings of Judah. I Chronicles is, in part the same as II Samuel. It has to do with the story of David, prefaced with 9 chapters of Genealogies. The Genealogies cover the period from Adam to the Jews' return from captivity, a sort of epitome of all previous sacred history."
"I & II Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah, were, originally, one series of works. Jewish tradition had it that Ezra was the author. Thus, it is seen, the author had access to journals, diaries and public records that are not now known . He also had access to previous Old Testament books. Guided by God, he transcribed that which was suited the purpose of his own writings. So, in this part of the Old Testament, we have a double narrative."
Acts 22:17-27:44 What was the impact of Paul's testimony? How did you judge Felix, Festus an Agrippa? What was unusual about the shipwreck? Where have you been for the past 5 years?
Psalm 2:1-8:9 Did you see: Prophecy? Stability? Good Words/News? Prayer? Being Anxious? Plea for protection? Excellent Name? What did you learn about God?
Proverbs 18:13-24 A fool's mouth and the power of the tongue. What about your friends?
Is there one(1) thing / thought / idea or concept that impressed you this week? Can you say "this one thing I know” because you have read and discovered a truth this week?
Hopefully, the reading this week causes you to sense, feel, know and believe that you are in fact saved, safe and in the hand of God, The Lord Jesus Christ, and that you are accepted in the beloved, secure and significant to GOD. While we complete the Book of Luke we will be reminded that we have already read about Jesus and His burial, resurrection an ascension in Matthew 27:57//Isaiah 53:9, Mark 16:6,7//Psalm 16:10 and Mark 16:19//Psalm 68:18.

Judges 4:1-14:20 What caused the children to sin and do evil in the sight of The LORD? What was Jeph-thah known for doing? What is significant about 14:4?
Luke 22:35-24:53 Discuss Jesus' prayer time at the mount of Olives 22:39-46. What caused Peter to weep bitterly? Discuss the "snap shot" of Jesus based on 23:39-47. Discuss the events on the road to Emmaus? Review 24:44-53 for application for us.
John 1:51 What is the "most" significant verse you read in John vs1-51?
Psalm 94:1-102:28 Why does vengeance belong to GOD? How do you practice Psalm 96? What impact has Psalm 97:10 had in your life? What trait did you note at 101:7?
Proverbs 14:3-16 Discuss the difference of the faithful -vs-false witness. Discuss v9.
The goal is for us to read and think at the same time about truth and its application for our lives. We read to KNOW Him, not to make GOD happy because we read.
Some things to consider: Who is the scripture written to? Who is speaking? What is your favorite verse? What is the main idea of the passage/chapter? Is there an example for me to follow? Is there an error/sin for me to avoid? Is there a duty to perform? Is there a promise for me? Is there a sin to confess? Are you confident about how to "get right" scripturally with The LORD?
Memory verse for class "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy is understanding", Proverbs 9:10. "Choice >>> consequence"

NOTICE-- We will meet in the Bridge Builder class room-upstairs @) 09:45 pl bot, PRAY, Please let us know if you are NOT going to be in class. If you have missed or not up to date on your reading - COME ON. We all read to know Him. Focus on The LORD and not the circumstances.
What one(1) thing / thought / idea / concept impressed this week? Can you say "this one " thing" I know...” Did you discover a "jewel" this week? If not, why not? Since our last meeting we have read through:
Joshua 3:1-24:33 Look for the leadership style of God through Joshua as he battles internal and external foes. Be alert to the specified tasks given to remind the children about God's provisions as they take the land so that they forget not The LORD. Consider the process Joshua used to divide the land so that equality was met. What sin did the Jews commit that is evident today? Discuss v24:15 and its significance.
Judges 1:1-3:31 As Joshua began with the death of Moses, Judges begins with the death of Joshua, what do you learn about GOD? How does the lack of leadership impact the Jews? How many "first time" events did you find? Why is disobedience so costly? What impact did 2:1-5 and 10-15 have on you? What "cycle" did you learn about at v3:16? How does the Book of Judges make you consider "obedience"?
Luke 14:7-22:34 This may not be written to us, but it is for us! As you practice the presence of Christ with you, hear and heed His voice. There is and will always be a cost to following Jesus, but the present and eternal benefits far outweigh the temporary cost. Luke 15 is a strong dramatic presentation of the love of God. As you read the parables seek the earthly story and pray to learn the heavenly truth that may change your life. Look for lessons about stewardship and missions. Be aware of the "Enemy" and be not surprised about conflicts that come because you are doing right. Let 21:28 anchor your soul and consider all things in view of Jesus' return to take the saved to be with GOD. Allow the blessings to soften your heart towards others. Work at not being puffed up with pride.
Psalm 80:1-93:5 Tells us to hear, not just listen, to what saith The Spirit. Many promises are recalled and provisions assured. Spend some "quality" time and really try to HEARKEN to the voice of GOD. Check your attitude, verify your ambitions and believe verse 84:12. Practice confessing your "sin", develop a broken heart and contrite spirit. Focus on GOD's greatness and power. Hide yourself in that secret hiding place and strive to be alone with HIM, yet you will never be alone. Watch Him early in the morning to see Him in His majesty.
Proverbs 12:27-14:2 That reminds us about a virtuous woman, a lying tongue and how a righteous man hates lying, that "hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life", verse 13:15 can be associated with Matthew 11:28, and that we can be wise if we be/do 14:2. Repeat often, verbally and mentally, Proverbs 9:10 and then act on it.
The goal is for us to read and think at the same time about truth and its application for our lives. We read to KNOW Him, not to make GOD happy because we read. Who did you call to check on this week? _______
