Extra Info:  "What the Bible is all About" by Henrietta C. Mears, Tyndale House Publishers, May 1967, Chapter 15 Understanding Job - Job portrays Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.  Page 153 " We have finished reading the historical books of the Old Testament--Joshua through Esther, now we open the books of poetry--Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon.  These books tell of the experiences of the heart.  It is fitting that the oldest book deals with the oldest problems.  Among these is "Why do godly people suffer?"  This is the theme of the book. Page 154 "This book should be read as a narrative. The story of Job is a simple one. It opens with a scene in heaven and then tells of Job's fall from prosperity to poverty. This is followed by the great discussion between Job and his four friends: Eliphaz the religious dogmatist, much like an ancient Pharisee; Bildad, who sought to comfort Job with worn-out platitudes; and Zophar, who thought he had the corner on all religious wisdom.  Then comes Elihu, the impetuous youth. Finally, the climax is reached when God speaks.  Job answers, at last in a humble spirit, and the problem are solved."

Tuesday, August 1, 2017

Yea for Tuesday 1 August 2017 and in particular for 30 July 1936 in that my mother birthed me, loved me and prepared me for this day. I've been married for 60 years and saved for the last 40. How about you? You have been born of the water and as Nicodemus in John 3- You must be born again. Each of us, yea ALL of us were BORN sinners.  Since birth we have sinned, there is NONE righteous. Read the scripture given at John 3:1-36, believe and be born again. Go read my testimony at the blog and read the scriptures God used to show me-WHY-HOW-When to be forgiven, become a son of God, made righteous and prepared for eternity. When you die (Hebrews 9:27) and stand before The most Holy All knowing One and only True LORD whose name is JEHOVAH what will YOU say when asked "Why should I let you into heaven?"
READ THE BIBLE FIRST! READ THE BIBLE EVERY DAY! BELIEVE GOD! BE Thankful for this opportunity.
Lesson # 32          One Year 365 Bible Class (read 31Jul-6 Aug)                              VBC                        6 August 2017

Mon 31   What did King Hezekiah do to please God that we can put into practice today? How would you respond to Romans 14 if this was the only spiritual information you had? How does Psalm 24 focus on the coming Saviour and connect to 1stCorinthians 16:22? Why did God equip you with eyes and ears?

Tue 1  Should our life's goal be as King Hezekiah's reputation recorded by God at 2Chroniciles 31:20-21? Do you consider Romans 15:1-22 as a commandment and essential in your daily conduct? According to Psalm 25 why does God forgive us our sins? According to Proverbs 20:13-15 what is important to you?

Wed 2   How did King Sennacherib use King Hezekiah's word to defame God? How does v32:22, 30-32 affect your concept of God?  Was Manasseh a blessing or a curse from God as per v33:9-13?  How does Romans 15 encourage you in your ministry? What truth did you learn about this book at 16:1? What promise(s) have you believed from Psalm 25? From whom do you seek counsel?

Thu 3   Going back to 2 Chronicles 33:10-13, Friday's reading, how did God deal with Manasseh and his sins? What evidence indicates an act of repentance in any persons' life?  If God considered Manasseh as a "bad to good" king, why did his son Amon choose to act badly? What caused Amon's son Josiah to do well? How does chapter 34 impact your concept of God? How does Romans 16:24-27 cause your faith to be stronger?  How does Psalm 26 express your desires toward God?  Have you prayed this psalm back to God? What caution or warning did you get at Proverbs 20:19?

Now we begin reading the letters God caused Paul to pen for the church at Corinth. The first letter will deal with the problems in that local church. The second letter will be a defense of the ministry given to Paul by God. A simple evaluation you will find is that all Jews are not believers nor are all Gentiles unbelievers. As you read see that the problems discussed are still occurring in the local church today around the world being caused by ignorance, unbelief and worldliness. Be and get on God's side.

Fri 4   So far this year we have read the history of the kings of Israel/Judah covering more than 500 years and NOW we see God's report at 2Chronicles 35:18-19, how does this impact your concept of God? What did you learn from reading the final years of Judah under three different kings at chapter 36 that causes your faith to increase? We need to visit Acts 18 (o/a 50AD) where the scriptures indicate God caused Paul to visit Corinth on his 2nd mission trip. We understand this letter was written in 55AD while he was on the third mission trip. Some of the problems in the church were addressed by Paul in v1-17. How does Psalm 27 encourage you? How does Proverbs 20:20-21 remind you of Exodus 20?

Be thankful for knowing that The LORD caused some of the kings of Judah to cause a sense of revival among the Jews during hard times. What did God teach you about Himself in these recorded hard times?  The Jews have been taken into Babylon for captivity. The temple was destroyed in 586 and will not be rebuilt until 516(70 years) when the Jews return to Jerusalem and are lead by Zerubabbabel, Ezra and Nehemiah. Now we begin reading about that season of renewal as penned by God using Ezra as His scribe. Look to see how God uses Zerubbabel as governor and Joshua as priest along with the prophets Zechariah, Haggai because of the influence of Ester, Cyrus and Darius. We read to know God.

Sat 5 Ezra 1:1-2:70; Who did God use that had influence on King Cyrus? How did God preserve His remnant in captivity? 1Corinthians 1:18-2:5; How do these verses impact your daily walk and your concept of God? Psalm 27:8-14; Do you practice v14? Proverbs 20:22-23; How does this reinforce Psalm 27?

Sun 6   Ezra 3:1-4:24; What song did the Jews sing? What is the conflict in cooperating with others of a different faith? Who was influential in King Artaxerxes court for the Jews?   Are letters and records of testimony important? 1 Corinthians 2:6-3:4; Do you refer to v9 as you witness? What does God consider a natural man to be? How may idol worship get into the church? Psalm 28:1-9; How is God described in this Psalm?  Proverbs 20:24-25; How does this relate to 1Corinthians 2:14?
GET right, BE right, Know right, DO right and don't quit. Make a difference for eternity.
