15 May 2011 Lesson # 19

Lesson #19 VBC 365 Bible Class Main Bldg-BB Class 15 May 11
Please let us know if you are NOT going to be in class. If you have missed and are not up to date on your reading-COME ON. We need your encouragement. #### Help us do headcount at 10:30, if you are a member "present", but working during this time, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
Is there one(1) thing / thought / idea / concept that impressed you because of your reading that has impacted your life this week? Can you say "this one " thing" I know...” Did you discover a "jewel" this week? If not, why not?
Some things to consider: Who is the scripture written to? Who is speaking? What is your favorite verse? What is the main idea of the passage/chapter? Is there an example for me to follow? Is there an error/sin for me to avoid? Is there a duty to perform? Is there a promise for me? Is there a sin to confess? Are you confident about how to "get right" scripturally with The LORD? This week we have had the opportunity to read the following:
1st Samuel 8:1-18:4 How did Judges 21 impact the reading of 1st Sam 9? How and why did Samuel urge Israel to serve GOD(12:13-22)? How does 15:26-35 impact your concept of God?
John 6:22-8:30 How many "I am" statements did Jesus make in these verses? What did you find critical in 6:65 and 66? How does 7:14 fit into your concept of GOD?
Psalm 106:32-111:10 Discuss 106:40 as it applies to your family? What phrase is repeated 4 times is Psalm 107? What promise did you discover at 111:10?
Proverbs 14:34-15:11 How does the sin of another(14:34) impact your life? What attribute of GOD did you discover at v15:3? How do you respond to reproof-15:10?
Last week we talked about the prayer life of Naomi/Mara and Ruth. How has your prayer life been changed because of reading the Book of Ruth?
Do you consider GOD's name to be Lord? How important is a name? Consider Psalm 138:2.
The goal is for us to read and think at the same time about truth and its application for our lives. We read to KNOW Him, not to make GOD happy because we read.
Memory verse for class "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy is understanding", Proverbs 9:10. "Choice >>> consequence >>> EVIDENCE"
