Mon-31-Job37:1-39:30, 2nd Corinthians 4:13-5:10, Psalm 44:9-26 & Proverbs 22:13. What admonitions did Elihu give for the wise men? What traits of God are recorded today? What/how did God reply/answer to Job? How well are we prepared to answer God’s question about our conversation? Hebrews 9:27? How do you renew the “inward man” each day?
Tue-1-Job 40:1-42:17, 2nd Corinthians 5:11-21, Psalm 45:1-17 & Proverbs 22:14. If we know that one day we will give an accounting what are we doing today to prepare for God’s questions? How did today’s reading of Job impact your concept of God? What might be written as the (DOB-DOD) dash on Job’s tombstone? How do you react to 2nd Corinthians 5:17-21? What name did you discover in Psalm 45? What warning did you see in Proverbs 22:14?
The five “Poetical Books” of our Bible are Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and The Song of Solomon. Some say these Books are poems, songs, and dialogues reflecting the meditations and questions of the heart and minds that cause the readers to make wise observations and interpretations of everyday life. We read Job to know God better through adversity; extracted in part from Jensen’s Survey of the Old Testament.
Wed-2-Ecclesiastes1:1-3:22, 2nd Corinthians 6:1-13, Psalm 46:1-11 & Proverbs 22:15. Why was King Solomon so skeptical and pessimistic? How will you explain 2nd Corinthians 6:1 to a young child? What “wills of God” are in Psalm 46? How is the best way to use the rod of correction? How does the rod of correction correct and protect?
Solomon is the penman used by God for both Ecclesiastes and the Song of Solomon. We learn from the Palms penned by King David the joy of the LORD yet from King Solomon we read much about a failed life style and that all is vanity. We ought to hear as if the hurting humane is crying out to be saved as we read and hear Ecclesiastes.
Thu-3-Ecclesiastes 4:1-6:12, 2nd Corinthians 6:14-7:7 Psalm 47:1-9 & Proverbs 22:16. What warnings are given in Ecclesiastes 5? What Truth did you gain from 2nd Corinthians 6? How did you apply Psalm 47:9 into your belief system?
Fri-4-Ecclesiastes 7:1-9:18, 2nd Corinthians 7:8-16, Psalm 48:1-14 & Proverbs 22:17-19. What attributes of God did you find in Ecclesiastes 7 & 8? What attributes of God are shown in Palm 48? How did God show his jealousy in the Proverbs today?
Sat-5-Ecclesiastes 10:1-12:14, 2nd Corinthians 8:1-15, Psalm 49:1-20 & Proverbs 22:20-21. How is God exalted in Ecclesiastes 12:1-14? What and or how did Psalm 49 impact your stewardship principles? What leadership principle is given in the Proverbs?
This love song may have been written by King Solomon for one of his favorite wives. As we read we can sense the story implies that great love of our Saviour for His bride.
Sun-6-Song of Solomon1:1-4:16, 2nd Corinthians 8:16-24, Palm 50:1-23 & Proverbs 22:22-23. What did you learn about “love” while reading Song of Solomon? How will you use Psalm 50 to share your testimony and speak about stewardship?   Call and encourage a classmate.
