It has been a few extra days, but Tuesday 28 January 2020 is a good day to catch up and be challenged. Hopefully, you are excited about God and His promises. Please use the One Year Bible at the blog site to read every day to know God.
We have finished reading Genesis the first of the five books of the Law. We consider Genesis to be the beginning of everything. Genesis is the foundation for our concept of The LORD. The creation, origin of man, sin, and the understanding of forgiveness is made plain. The key to God's work is through the Hebrew people, and covenants are given to protect the obedient believer.
Everything we believe is tied to Almighty God as recorded for us in Genesis how man created in God's image. Even though Satan deceived Eve and Adam to sin and the promise of a Saviour was given at chapter 3:15. We have followed the creation of man, the fall of man, the restoration of man, and the life of a man and his family living by faith and obedience to what thus saith the LORD.
I challenge you to read and meditate on the book of Exodus chapter 6:1-8. We have been exposed to several names of God so far in our reading and these verses make plain and distinct who God is and what His provisions are for his people. This defines the concept of believers telling unbelievers about redemption and restoration, the heartbeat of God. God hates sin.
God loves sinners. Do not forget what you read 4 January 2020, where Jesus said in Matthew 4:17, "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
What have you learned about God the Father, the Son, Holy Spirit and yourself by reading chapters 1-19 of Matthew? we are 1/12th through the year and we are blessed to have a Bible to read. Read on purpose to see and hear what thus saith The Spirit. Seek to learn the names and attributes of God. After you read, stop, meditate and ask for clarity, understanding, knowledge as you seek WISDOM.
Suggest you take extra time and read the three Psalms: 22, 23 & 24 as one Psalm. Pause and reflect on the past, present, and future of the life of The Lord Jesus Christ, your own life and the life of your family.
As you read the Proverbs note the action words as they relate to a person’s life. As you read proverbs 5:22-23 allow the truths that are written be applied to your life. Read James 4:17.
