Sunday, January 5, 2020, Happy New Year to you. As you start reading the Bible to know God. During this week read, 6-12 Jan, Genesis 13:5-27:46; Matthew 5:27-9:17; Psalm 6:1-10:18 and Proverbs 1:29-3:10.

(For daily reading assignments click the link at the bottom of this post)

The more ideal way is to read each day from the One Year Bible at our blog site in order to maintain a consistent discipline. Again I strongly urge you to read your Bible then, if you choose, consider the comments about the readings.  Hopefully, we will have the system arranged for your comments back to us about your reading or my comments soon.

We want to encourage each of you to focus on GOD, the most high God whose name is Jehovah. We have some readings available to assist you in your prayer time, sharing ways to enjoy the names of God as you pray.

When you read on Monday, meditate on the name and person of Melchizedek. Take time to consider how Jesus called his disciples and taught them how he was going to live and if they followed him how they should live while at the sermon on the mount. As you read the Psalms, are you confident that the LORD will receive your prayers? What kind of prosperity do you want to enjoy?

When reading on Tuesday, consider God's covenant with Abram as recorded in Genesis 12, 15 and today. What promises did God give that have benefits for you today? The Holy Spirit moved Matthew to write bold statements about personal conduct and warnings about being a hypocrite. The prayer example should teach us that prayer is the privilege given to the believer to call upon the Father in the name of the Son, The Lord Jesus, Adoring God's favor and confessing our sins. Please look at the prayer booklet for praying using the format of A-C-T-S. Become a seeker of the 700 names of God.

Psalm 7:8 should cause all of us to stop, ponder, and recognize that God does consider our meditation. All of us ought to consider our lifestyle-conversation in light of Proverbs 2 as we begin to know and fear God.

We all must be careful if or when we do not read each day that we do not get caught in the trap, thinking God will not love me. God's loves is unconditional! If you get caught up thinking you must read to please God, soon you will either quit or go back and try to catch up, DON'T. Read James 4:17. IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE WRONG PATH, CONFESS AND GET RIGHT.  Start a new discipline. This is the day. Read today to know God. GET, BE, KNOW, DO RIGHT - Don't Quit.

As you read the rest of the week strive to summarize your reading as to what you have learned about GOD, self and others 'JOY' (Jesus - Others - Yourself). Try to write this knowledge in one sentence. Take time to pray it back as a prayer of thanksgiving and gratefulness.
