Feb 25th Wednesday I'm sure you are very happy that you do not live in the days written about in Leviticus. I'm glad that I don't have to offer sacrifices nor go through a human priest to get things right with God, yet we still go through a High Priest The Lord Jesus Christ, to get to GOD The Father today. The reason any and all come is for an atonement and cleansing from all our sins before The LORD.
Leviticus 17:11-14 makes it clear what attitude the children of God were to have concerning blood. Sin can only be satisfied by the shedding of blood. We, as sinners will lose our life's blood to pay the sin debt or they/we must slay an innocent animal and offer it's blood in our stead. Thanks be to God for salvation through Jesus, The Innocent Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. 18:1-30 restates what their doings ought to be and what they should not do. Privacy, decency, respect and good conduct coupled with doing the judgments, keeping the statutes and ordinances and walking therein to please The LORD. Verses 27-30 are plain and specific and as the Jews were instructed to observe them, they are given to us as examples of what our Lord expects of us today.
Mark7:24-37 reports the compassion of Jesus and how He so gently treated the Syrophenician woman in words and deeds by healing her daughter. Mark 8 records the miracle of feeding 4000 men+. We ought to see the power and compassion of Christ as he teaches His disciples that through Him men serve men. He takes what they have and after blessing the bread and fish He breaks and gives so that they might set before the people. Hope you have a good day as you read to know Him. pj
