Mar 1st Hope to see in SS and Church today. There are some out of town and some in conflict so let us be mindful of their needs and pray often for their reliance upon GOD who giveth the victory. Let the rest of us TODAY be grateful and thank The LORD for His watchcare over us. Please read Psalm 119:9-11 and let us accept His promise and stick to our vow according to what we read and say we believe. Salty! We will finish reading Leviticus and Mark this month. We need to continue. searching for the names, traits, attributes of our LORD as we read Numbers and Luke.
Leviticus 24:1-25:46 God told Moses to be very careful to listen and be very specific to tell Aaron, all the priest and all the children to obey His commandments and to observe all the statutes. Although The LORD gave everything to the people to use in the sacrifices, offerings and worship He told them how to prepare each item even describing how to prepare the olive oil for the lamps. We should not be surprised when we see that The Lord Jesus Christ is the only acceptable perfect Lamb of God who is without sin or blemish and who has paid in full the penalty for all sins. When we appreciate how God has treated us and the children of Israel it should be no problem treating others properly.Verse 17 states "Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God; for I Am the LORD thy God".
Mark 10:13-31 makes it very plain how to get to Heaven, and verse 15 tells all the requirements. Receive the gift! It is good for men to do right, but practice before doctrine is bad. Jesus makes it very clear that rich men and poor men get to Heaven the SAME way. Let your faith be founded in the Word, be right and then do right as led by The Holy Spirit. Let us all be sure that God's stewardship plan for us is BEST. Just imagine and hundredfold return on your gift to God, that God gave to you first and then and when you freely gave back to Him, you were to be rewarded 100-1 and "with persecution S" ; AND in the world to come eternal life. Do you seek for a better deal?
Psalm 44:8-26 makes the answer for the question about a better deal by stating "In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah. Does it fascinate you to hear what we read today would be the theme of the pastor's sermon this AM titled "the secrets of the heart"? God is at work!
Proverbs 10:20-21 ought to cause us to be careful in our speech.
Let us be diligent this week to read to know Him and to pray like prudent people. pj
